This series consists of a List of Officials for the Department of Public Works.The front of the Volume contains a printed report from 1888 titled Reorganisation of the Public Works Department (Minutes and Reports respecting). The Report could be an extract from the NSW Parliamentary Papers. The remainder of the Volume consists of printed Lists of Officers/Lists of Officials of the Department of Public Works, from 1888 to 1894. The lists are arranged chronologically, and are annotated by Accountants within the Department of Public Works regarding changes to details in the Lists. The list for 1894 is stamped ‘Accountant, Roads, Bridge and Sewerage, 31 March 1894’. The last annotation by an Accountant is 30 November 1896. The title page of the Volume is stamped with ‘Accountant’.The front page of the Volume is annotated with: ‘1879 to 1888’; and ‘22.9.82 Fire’. This refers to the Garden Palace Fire which occurred on 22 September 1882. Records of the Harbours and Rivers Branch [I] of the Department of Public Works were burnt in the fire along with furniture and equipment.
