Breakdown of ship traffic in the Arctic Ocean by ship type 2013-2019

Over 1,700 unique ships sailed in the Arctic Ocean (corresponding with the Polar Code area) in 2019. A fishing vessel was the most common ship type to be found in the Arctic Ocean, amounting to around 42 percent of all ships in this area in 2019.
