资源简介:

Aggregate prescription analysis mitigated for small cell size, from PhD Thesis and Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy publication (February 2025). Details are provided below: Miller LM. The Health and Economic Impact of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Prophylactics on Antibiotic Use and Resistance in England. PhD thesis. Imperial College London; 2023(under embargo) Miller L, Beaney T, Hope R, et al. General practice antibiotic prescriptions attributable to respiratory syncytial virus by age and antibiotic class: an ecological analysis of the English population. Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy 2025; 80: 1116–26. Antibiotic prescriptions for the English population in the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) between 2015-2018 have been aggregated by week and age group (0–5 and 6–23 months and 2–4, 5–14, 15–44, 45–64, 65–74 and ≥75 years). Prescription outcomes include: Total antibiotic prescriptions Respiratory antibiotic prescriptions Respiratory antibiotics potentially important for resistance Specific antibiotic classes Nitrofurantoin prescriptions For detailed definitions of each outcome, please refer to the supplementary data of the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy publication (2025). To ensure anonymisation, a dual approach has been taken: Suppressing weekly counts of fewer than 5 (in line with CPRD requirements) Only including antibiotic outcome/age group combinations with ≥1,000 total prescriptions across the study period (as models were only run for these combinations). Data provision: CSV files: Weekly antibiotic prescription counts by age group RDS file: A combined file containing all age-specific dataframes.
