资源简介:
The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. These volumes contain information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school is also recorded; this column is also used to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred. Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission, and are numbered independently. The series from Forbesdale Public School is represented by a single volume, probably the second of an original two. This volume was commenced in 1936, but includes entries for pupils already enrolled at that time, which have evidently been transferred from the previous volume, and retain the numbering used in that volume. The newer entries, however, are numbered anew from 1-123 (boys) and 1-96 (girls), until 1965, after which new numerical sequences are commenced at the beginning of each school year. Each of the last two pages of entries bears the note “School Closed 11.12.69.”
