Maize root associated nematodes Raw sequence reads

The aim of this study was to investigate BX effects on maize root and rhizosphere nematode communities grown in natural soils. We hypothesized that BXs affect plant parasitic nematodes negatively and minimal effect on free-living taxa; the BXs effects would be more pronounced on nematodes closely associated with root-rhizoplane than nematodes in soil compartments. To test these hypotheses, we compared BXs quantities in roots and soil samples and examined root, rhizosphere and bulk soil nematode assemblages associated with a maize mutant line (bx1) impaired in the BX biosynthesis pathway in comparison with its parental line.
