Dataset for the manuscript: Schneiderova P et al., The SARS-CoV-2 trigger highlights host interleukin 1 genetics in Epstein–Barr Virus reactivation, Cell Reports (2025)

The dataset consists of clinical and laboratory parameters in 687 individuals (375 women and 312 men; mean age 53 years; Central Europe) with persistent patient-reported long COVID symptoms lasting 4 weeks to 4 months following SARS-CoV-2 infection. Among analysed parameters are changes on chest X-ray (CXR), pulmonary functional test (vital capacity [VC], forced expiratory volume in the first second [FEV1], total lung capacity [TLC], single-breath lung diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide [DLCOSB] and carbon monoxide transfer coefficient [KCO]), serological markers of recent EBV reactivation (anti-EBV VCA IgM, VCA IgA and EA[D] IgG) and ten functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the IL1 gene cluster and IL10 gene.
