资源简介:
SWOT Science Orbit: Internal Tide SSH Corrections (Cycles 1–25) Derived from a data-assimilative HYCOM system, this dataset provides sea surface height (SSH) corrections for the initial 25 cycles of the SWOT Science phase. The internal tide signal is partitioned into two distinct components that must be aggregated by the user to resolve the complete tidal field. Data Components Phase-Locked (fssh_coh): Represents the stationary, predictable portion of the internal tide. This component is temporally coherent and maintains a constant phase relationship with astronomical tidal forcing. Non-Phase-Locked (fssh_incoh): Accounts for the incoherent or transient signal. This component captures phase shifts and energy fluctuations driven by evolving oceanographic conditions, such as varying density stratification or interactions with background currents. Implementation & Calculation To effectively remove the total internal tide signature from SWOT observations, users must perform a manual summation of the provided variables: total_internal_tide = fssh_coh + fssh_incoh Mandatory Processing Step Important: Before applying these HYCOM-based corrections, users must first \"undo\" the default internal tide correction found in standard SWOT L3 products. Specifically, the HRET (High-Resolution Empirical Tide) model values must be added back to the SSH signal before subtracting the HYCOM internal tide components. This ensures there is no double-correction.
