资源简介:
The bird bowl, whose findspot is unknown, but was produced in the eastern Greek region, is dated between 675 and 610 BC. It originates from the bird cotyle in Northern Ionia and wa developed around 700 BC. In contrast to its predecessor the body of the bird bowl is flat but still bulbous. Archaeometric analyses were able to prove that the bird bowls were produced by a workshop or a group of workshops around Klazomenai and Teos. The bird bowls owe their name to the decoration which is always composed according to a similar scheme: there are three metopes on each side, the middle one shows a bird with a shaded body, while the side ones show shaded rhombs.
