Global microplastic contamination is now well recognized, with humans and animal consuming and inhaling MPs. Herein we explored, using a mouse model of COVID-19, whether polystyrene MP beads delivered to lungs, affects infection and disease caused by SARS-CoV-2. Lung virus titers and viral RNA levels measured. Gene expression profile was investigated and compared to those of human COVID-19 cases.
