Data and Analysis Materials for Religious Fundamentalism and Authoritarian Orientation in the United States: An Exploratory Meta-Analysis of Cross-Domain Authority and Construct Overlap
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains the data-extraction and reproducibility materials supporting the manuscript Religious Fundamentalism and Authoritarian Orientation in the United States: An Exploratory Meta-Analysis of Cross-Domain Authority and Construct Overlap. The primary dataset includes 15 directly source-verifiable, sample-level zero-order correlations between religious fundamentalism and authoritarian orientation drawn from 10 peer-reviewed publications involving U.S. samples published between 2000 and September 23, 2026, with a combined analytic sample of N = 4,037. The repository also includes data used for facet-level analyses of authoritarian aggression, authoritarian submission, and conventionalism; sensitivity analyses addressing possible participant overlap across publications; candidate-study and exclusion records; construct and measurement coding; source-provenance information; and documentation of search and adjudication decisions. The accompanying R analysis script reproduces the primary restricted maximum-likelihood random-effects meta-analysis using Fisher’s z-transformed correlations, along with heterogeneity statistics, the prediction interval, publication-level aggregation sensitivity analysis, conservative suspected-participant-overlap sensitivity analysis, facet-level analyses, leave-one-out analyses, the Egger regression diagnostic, and selected supplementary sensitivity analyses. A README file documents the organization of the repository, eligibility rules, analytical conventions, interpretation limits, and reproducibility procedures. The primary synthesis estimates the association between religious fundamentalism and authoritarian orientation within the eligible U.S. evidence base. The materials also permit examination of the extent to which strong associations may be consistent with shared conventionalism and overlapping item content. These analyses do not establish causal direction, construct equivalence, or the proportion of the observed association attributable to measurement overlap. The review developed through iterative extraction and verification rather than a prospectively registered systematic-search protocol. Historical database-result counts, a complete platform-by-platform search audit trail, and verbatim query strings for every earlier search pass were not prospectively retained and are therefore not reconstructed in this repository. The workbook reports the search concepts, evidence-status decisions, and source approaches supported by the retained project record. The repository contains extracted study-level information and analysis code only. It does not redistribute participant-level datasets from the original studies. Researchers wishing to verify individual effect sizes should consult the cited primary sources and the provenance information provided in the extraction workbook.
