Hourly particulate organic matter (POM) samples were collected from the underway system during the research cruise JR18001 (AMT28). In addition, triplicate POM samples were collected at noon for each day of the transect. Particulate organic carbon (POC) and particulate organic nitrogen (PON) were analyzed for C and N content on a FlashEA 1112 nitrogen and carbon analyzer. POC and PON concentrations were calibrated using known quantities of atropine. Particulate organic phosphorus samples (POP) were analyzed using an ash-hydrolysis method.
