Comparative transcriptome analysis of tolerant and susceptible potato plants in response to Dickeya dadantii 3937 during early infection

The goal of our study is to better understand the molecular basis of potato tolerance to soft-rot bacterial pathogens, in particular Dickeya spp., and to identify genes that might be involved in this process. The availability of tolerant and susceptible potato plants allowed for the current study to use next generation sequencing technology to examine the global transcriptional response of potatoes to D. dadantii 3937 challenge, particularly at early stages of infection.
