资源简介:
The Pigment Manufacturers of Australia Guide to Records documents and contextualises the records of Pigment Manufacturers of Australia, which operated a pigments plant at Laverton, Victoria, from 1970 until 1991. The collection documented by the Guide covers a range of the Company's activities throughout its period of operation, including general managers' files, detailed monthly reports, outgoing correspondence from senior staff, files and notebooks from the Development department of the company, and a large number of colour sample cards. It also includes a number of records from Imperial Chemical Industries of Australia and New Zealand Limited (ICIANZ), who operated the Pigments Plant at Laverton from 1960 to 31 December 1969 before forming PMA Ltd as a joint venture with BASF Australia Ltd. The collection consists of 1239 inventory items, mostly paper format files, grouped into 67 series. The total collection occupies 1,794 linear cm of shelf space (or its equivalent).
The Guide is the output of a research database. It was published online by the Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre in 2004. An updated version was published online by the eScholarship Research Centre in December 2008. Work on the collection was begun by the Australian Science Archives Project in the mid-1990s.
The records are held by the State Library of Victoria (MS 13626). The collection was listed by Barbara Cytowicz, Ann McCarthy, Gavan McCarthy, Michael Jones and Rachel Tropea.
