Here is presented the whole-genome sequence of Streptococcus thermophilus strain APC151, isolated in Ireland from digestive tract of marine fish. The main characteristic of this bacterium is the potential of producing GABA in high yields and its biotechnological suitability to produce naturally GABA-enriched biofunctional yoghurt.
