This Excel spreadsheet contains the data and calculations for the mean values and standard errors of the variables used to produce Figs 3–5 in the Main Text. The cultural traits in this sheet are grouped according to their appropriate time period. For each trait, the abbreviation (column B), the age of first consolidate appearance (column C), and the appropriate time period (column D) are provided. See Main Text’s Methods for the definition of the variables; Tables 1 and S1 provide further details on the considered cultural traits. (XLSX)
