We conducted a systematic and comprehensive literature search for peer-reviewed articles published up to October 2025 using Web of Science (http://apps.webofscience.com/), Google Scholar (https://scholar.google.com/), and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (http://www.cnki.net/). Additional studies were identified through manual screening of reference lists from retrieved articles. The following keywords were used: (“aerated irrigation” OR “aeration” OR “oxygation” OR “oxygen” OR “air injection” OR “venturi” OR “hydrogen peroxide”) AND (“yield” OR “water use efficiency” OR “irrigation water use efficiency” OR “evapotranspiration” OR “net photosynthetic rate” OR “stomatal conductance” OR “transpiration rate” OR “intercellular CO2 concentration” OR “leaf area” OR “chlorophyll content”).
