Flecainide: evaluation of effects on heart rate, body temperature and electrocardiogram after singleoral administration to conscious guinea pigs.

N=6 Male Dunkin-Hartley guinea-pigs, chronically-instrumented with a radiotelemetry implant. Flecainide at 5, 15 and 45 mg/kg, po, in successive treatments sessions as an escalating dose design. No PK phase.Parameters measured: heart rate in beats/min, body temperature in ?C, duration of RR, PR, PQ, QT and QRS in ms. All parameters were analysed before administration, i.e. 0.75, 0.5 and 0.25 h before dosing (baseline), then at 0.5,1, 1.5, 2 and every hour over the 24 hours after dosing.
