Constant extrinsic incubation temperatures have been shown to impact arbovirus vector competence, extrinsic incubation period, and mosquito survival. However, little is known as to how temperature impacts arbovirus genetic diversity during mosquito infection. Therefore, we characterized the impact that constant temperatures of 25C, 28C, 32C, 35C, and the diurnal fluctuation from 25C to 35C during extrinsic incubation periods have on Zika virus vector competence and genomic population structure within Aedes mosquitoes.
