Selenium (Se) plays a dual role in plants, acting as a beneficial micronutrient at low concentrations while functioning as a potential toxin at high concentrations. This study employed a transcriptomic approach to investigate the effects of foliar application of sodium selenite (Na2SeO3) on leaves of Ricinus communis L. The findings provide valuable insights into the regulatory mechanisms of Se-mediated alleviation of abiotic stress in castor bean plants and inform optimal application strategies for selenium.
