16S rRNA gene amplicons from conventional and organic controlled environmental agriculture (hydroponic) ponds

The sampled controlled environmental agriculture system for this study is a soilless, deep water culture pond, 12-14 inches deep, with the water sourced from a well in the USA. Two organic and two conventional ponds were selected for this study. Within each pond, one sample was taken from different sections: one sample from the seeding side, one sample from the middle, and one sample from the harvest side of the pond, for a total of 12 individual samples. The seeding side of the pond is where seeding of the crop occurs, and the harvest side of the pond is where harvesting mature crop occurs.
