Dextran sodium sulfate treatment of Pirc rats alters colonic and tumor gene expression

Dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) causes inflammation in the gut similar to ulcerative colitis in humans. Patients with ulcerative colitis have increased risk of developing colon cancer. We sought to determine whether genes altered in the normal colonic epithelium or tumor differed between sporadic and inflammation-associated tumor development.葡聚糖硫酸钠（Dextran sodium sulfate, DSS）可诱导肠道产生与人类溃疡性结肠炎相似的炎症反应。溃疡性结肠炎患者罹患结直肠癌的风险显著升高。本研究旨在明确：在散发性结肠肿瘤与炎症相关性结肠肿瘤的发生过程中，正常结肠上皮或肿瘤组织内发生改变的基因是否存在差异。
