Genome assembly and annotation of the free-living nematode Plectus sambesii. In this genome we find that Plectus sambesii has retained orthologs of Piwi-clade argonautes and that it contains piRNA motifs similar to those of C. elegans, confirming that the nematode piRNA pathway is very ancestral.
