CONUS Groundwater pCO2 Model Dataset

The dataset used to model CONUS groundwater concentrations at monthly 0.1 x 0.1 degree resolution using an XGBoost model. Groundwater carbon dioxide concentrations are calculated from concurrent pH, water temperature, and alkalinity measurements using the geochemical software PHREEQC and pulled from the Water Quality Portal. Attributes are derived from the WQP, from HydroATLAS, from ERA5 monthly reanalysis data, and from various hydrogeological and categorical datasets including WHYMAP.
