3D model of Rugabinthus kodama sp. nov.

Rugabinthus kodama sp. nov. male habitus 3D image reconstructed by photogrammetry. Archive includes .obj, .mtl, .glb, and screenshot of the model and a short video of the 3D model. 3D model of one male paratype of R. kodama sp. nov. was created based on imaging using the Darmstadt Insect Scanner (DISC3D). The pinned dry specimen was placed centrally between two uniformly illuminated hemispherical bodies (illumination dome). An industrial camera (Basler) with a resolution of 12 MP was used to generate photos with extended depth of field (EDOF). The specimen was photographed from 396 different angles. The entire process was automated and controlled by the DISC3D Control Software v. 2.1 (Small World Vision GmbH, Darmstadt). We then used Agisoft Metashape Professional version 2.1.1 build 17821 (64-bit) (https://www.agisoftmetashape.com, St. Petersburg, Russia) for the photogrammetric generation of the model. The resulting .obj file was visualized and processed in Blender 5.1 (Blender Foundation, Amsterdam, Netherlands). The interactive 3D model was then exported in GLB format for online visualization through Sketchfab (https://sketchfab.com), and the source files were deposited in Zenodo as a permanent scientific archive.
