To unfold the potential links between Salmonella fatty acid oxidation and other metabolic pathways, we performed RNA-seq to draw the transcriptomic response of Salmonella in response to oleci acid treatment. We compared samples of oleic acid shock (Group OAS) and oleic acid growth (Group OAG) to glucose growth (Group GLU). Salmonella SL1344 wild type stran was cultivated in M9CA minimal medium supplemented with 0.4% Brij-58 and 0.1 % glucose (Group GLU) or 0.1 % oleic acid (Group OAG) to OD600~1.0. Cells from GLU groups were washed twice with PBS at room temperature and resuspend in M9CA minimal medium supplemented with 0.4% Brij-58 and 0.1 % oleic acid and cultivated for 10 min (Group OAS). RNA was collected by hot-phenol method and expression difference were compared between different groups.
