The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Applied Research and Innovation Branch, along with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the City and County of Denver, funded the development of this study of Colorado’s historic streetcar systems in order to provide CDOT staff and others with a context of streetcar development in the state along with a framework for the evaluation of these unique resources under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966, as amended (Section 106).
