Data Set for the Threat-Neglect Induces a Contextual Shift Between Egocentric and Altercentric Bias in Visual Perspective Taking

This dataset is derived from the study on Threat-Neglect Induces a Contextual Shift Between Egocentric and Altercentric Bias in Visual Perspective Taking, and includes behavioral data from Experiment 1, Experiment 2, and Experiment 3. The data collection time is 2021. The research subjects are healthy adult participants, all of whom have normal naked or corrected vision. They sign an informed consent form before the experiment and receive corresponding compensation after the experiment. All experiments were conducted after approval by the ethics committee of the university where they were conducted. This study adopts the adaptation paradigm of the classic Dot Perspective Task to explore the first-order visual viewpoint acquisition and processing in the context of threat neglect. Experiment 1 examines the effects of different stimulus valences on self centeredness bias and others centeredness bias; Experiment 2 replaces real animals with animal photos to investigate whether the above effects are due to the physical properties of the stimulus or the prediction of future behavior and potential consequences of the stimulus; Experiment 3 further tested whether the effect depends on controlled processing by manipulating high and low time pressures. The experimental program was developed and run using E-Prime 2.0, and the stimulus material was modeled and produced using Blender software. The experimental data is automatically recorded by the computer, mainly including subject number, trial number, experimental conditions, key response, reaction time, and correctness information.
