CITY, ROAD AND MEMORY: THE COMPARATIVE POETICS OF ARTISTIC SPACE AND TIME IN "SAMARQAND DREAM" AND "SEIIKI MONOGATARI"

This article explores the comparative poetics of artistic space and time in Samarkand dream and Seiiki monogatari through the images of the city, the road and memory. In Khurshid Davron’s work, Samarkand is interpreted as a central space of historical memory, national identity and spiritual continuity, while in Yasushi Inoue’s work the Western Regions appear as a chronotope of the road, travel, search and cultural exchange. The article analyzes the semantic functions of the city and the road, retrospective time, historical traces, ruins, intercultural connectedness and poetic retardation.
