Oral Microbiome Diversity Matters in NUC Discontinuation in Chronic Hepatitis B

This study explored how the oral microbiome changes in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) who stop antiviral treatment. Over three years, saliva samples from 18 patients were analyzed. Results showed that those who responded well to treatment discontinuation had a more diverse and stable oral microbiome. These findings suggest the oral microbiome may influence the success of CHB therapy and could help guide future treatment strategies.
