The saw-toothed grain beetle Oryzaephilus surinamensis is a grain pest beetle. This beetle have well-developed bacteriomes, a specialized organ for harboring symbiotic bacteria. The goal of the project is to clarify the function of the symbiont to the host beetle by sequencing the genome of the symbionts.
