VPRS 7111 Wages Book, Worker's Compensation Act

This book records wages paid to individuals under the Worker's Compensation Act. The earliest entries in this book record the following information; date, recipient's surname, first name or initial, address (town or district only), nature of services rendered (examples given include surfaceman. grading, carpenter, repairs, mustering horses and office cleaning), whether these were "ordinary" or "special", the amount paid and whether this was for "manual", "clerical and managerial" or "commission or special;" work. Sometimes a voucher number is also recorded. There is intermittent reference to various accounts including the Municipal Fund, Electric Light and Main Roads. Payments are recorded once per calendar month. Later entries only record amounts paid with the odd reference to "Sundry Sustenance Men". The volume also contains a State Accident Insurance Office wages adjustment certificate from the Shire of McIvor for the period ending 30 September 1933.
