Seismo-Acoustic and Thermal Data from Stromboli Volcano

This dataset includes the data used to produce the analyses presented in the article “Volcanic Tremor as a Proxy for Shallow Magma Outgassing” by Dario Delle Donne, Gilda Risica, Giorgio Lacanna, Francesco Biagioli, Massimo Della Schiava, Lorenzo Innocenti, Giacomo Ulivieri, Sebastien Valade, and Maurizio Ripepe, submitted for publication.The dataset contains the following components:“station_coordinates.ods” – A table reporting the characteristics of the seismic stations used, including site amplification coefficients and the average volcanic tremor amplitude recorded from 23 September to 1 October 2016.“seismic_locations.mat” – a MATLAB dataset containing hypocentral locations of volcanic tremor. Specifically, the variables Xx0, Yy0, and Zz0 represent hypocentral coordinates at time TWND (in MATLAB time format). The Misfit parameter is also included, indicating the quality of each location.“infrasonic_detection.mat” – a MATLAB dataset including infrasonic detections from the analysis of the infrasonic array. The dataset contains a structure named LF with five parameters:TW: window time (MATLAB format)BKZ: backazimuthVAPP: apparent velocityPRS: signal amplitudeSNR: signal-to-noise ratio, representing the quality index of the localization“thermal_data.mat” – a MATLAB dataset with three variables:TT: time (MATLAB format)tapp: average apparent temperature in the field of viewHH: a matrix reporting the number of thermally anomalous pixels (above background) at each time step along a horizontal profile above the craters“ROC_20221219.mseed” – a MiniSEED dataset containing one hour of seismo-acoustic recordings at the ROC station, including seismic channels (HHZ, HHN, HHE) and the infrasonic channel (HDF).ROC camera movie – video corresponding to the same one-hour seismo-acoustic recording included in the ROC_20221219.mseed dataset.“LGS_Activity_index.mat” – a MATLAB dataset containing the daily volcanic activity index for Stromboli, issued by the Laboratorio di Geofisica Sperimentale, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Florence, based on multiparametric network data from Stromboli under the mandate of the Italian Civil Protection (e.g., Ripepe et al., 2009, http://lgs.geo.unifi.it/).
