Despite increasing the negative impact of waterborne pathogens on human and animal health, little is known about the population dynamics and antimicrobial resistance pattern of salmonella enterica isolated from water sources after flood events. Accordingly, we analyzed the population structure, antimicrobial resistance pattern, mobile genetic elements (MGEs), clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) and CRISPR associated genes (CRISPR-cas) of salmonella enterica isolates, isolated from water samples after Hurricane Florence.
