This series of Resource Guides on Coastal Awareness in Science was developed for elementary, junior high and high school teachers who whould like to instill in children and young adults an appreciation of the ecologic value of the coast. Each of the Guides contains concepts, and activities which could be used in a week long unit on Coastal Awareness. The purpose of this guide is not to present a definitive work on coastal ecology, but to entice teachers to explore ecological aspects of coastal awareness.
