On the European Commission´s Green Deal Industrial Plan

In February and March, the EU Commission presented its "Green Deal Industrial Plan" and fleshed it out with, among other things, the proposal for a "Net Zero Industry Act" and the communication on the "Temporary Crisis and Transformation Framework". The three papers aim to accelerate the transformation of industry towards climate neutrality and at the same time - in view of recent industrial policy initiatives by other global location competitors such as the USA in particular - to improve the EU's competitiveness and attractiveness as a business location. With this position paper, the VDA evaluates these Commission initiatives and identifies the need for further political action.
