Synchrotron radiation-based X-ray microCT data

The SRµCT data consists of 3 individual scans. The scans were adjusted in intensity and converted to 8 bit for 3D stacking in the visualization software AMIRA.

The data shows parasitic/phoretic nematodes (Rhabditis maupasi) that are enclosed by the earthworm's brown bodies. The brown bodies are a response of the innate immune system of earthworms, where hemocytes are recruited to degrade organic debris in the coelomic cavity of the earthworm. Here, against the nematodes.
