In 2022, the cost-income-ratio (CIR) of Kakao Bank fell to about 42.62 percent. While Kakao Bank's CIR was around 104 percent in 2018, it managed to lower its CIR by about 50 percent within two years.Founded in January 2016 as one of the first digital (internet-only) banks in South Korea, Kakao Bank attracted over ten million customers within just two years after starting operations in July 2017.
