Allonychiurus kimi (Lee) is a common Collembolan species native to Korean soils and is used as an ecotoxicological test animal in accordance with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines. The microbiota of laboratory grown A. kimi was analyzed using bacterial 16s rRNA gene sequences. Further, A. kimi was introduced into two different soil environments and changes in the A. kimi microbiota and soil microbiota were profiled.
