Digital Archive from an Archaeological Excavation at Delavale Road, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, November to December 2022

This collection consists of images, spreadsheets, databases and GIS data from an archaeological excavation by Cotswold Archaeology. Work occurred on Land West of Delavale Road, Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, from November to December 2022. Residual worked flint of probable Neolithic date suggests limited activity in later prehistory; however, the excavation revealed evidence for more permanent use of the site during the Late Iron Age/Early Roman to post-medieval periods. The ceramic evidence suggests activity on the site was at its peak in the mid 2nd century and had largely ceased by the 4th. Subsequently the site likely lay within the agricultural hinterland of early medieval and medieval Winchcombe.
