VPRS 11350 Loan Approval Files

This series consists of loan approval files created by the Works Coordination Branch of the Department of Treasury. This Branch prepared and controlled overall capital works programmes (including forward planning) having regard to both Loan Council and government requirements and handled the allocation for borrowing programmes by statutory and local government bodies.It appears that all applications for borrowings were forwarded to the State Co-ordinator of Works of the Department of Treasury. The terms and conditions of each individual loan were approved by the Loan Council through the Treasury.The series documents the process of government approval of borrowings by statutory and local government bodies.Further research is required to document the loan approval process.
