The molecular detection and characterization of four Newcastle disease virus (NDV) isolatesfrom commercial poultry farms were conducted in Central Ethiopia, as well as the North Wolloand North Shewa zones of the Amhara region, Ethiopia. Four highly virulent Newcastle diseasevirus (NDV) strains were isolated from vaccinated commercial chickens during outbreaksbetween April 2023 and June 2024. The first complete genome sequences of these strains weresuccessfully sequenced in Ethiopia using the Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT) sequencingplatform.
