Transcriptional programmes involved in the eukaryotic cell cycle are activated sequentially throughout the process. In particular, the set of genes required for S and G2-M phases are highly conserved and induced one after the other. We used gene expression microarrays to analyse the global programme of gene expression of mouse embryonic fibroblast from a quiescence state (G0) to a synchronised cell proliferation Mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEF) were firstly synchronised by limiting nutrients (from 10% to 0.1% of faetal calf serum) in the medium for 48 h. Samples were collected at t = 0 h (after 48 h starvation but before full medium replacement), t = 0.5 h, t = 1 h, t = 2 h and every 2 h up to 30 h. Biological duplicas were collected for time points 0 h, 12 h, 18 h, 24 h and controls (unsynchronised).
