VPRS 15650 Record Cards, Land Purchases, Melbourne

This series consists of cards recording a summary of purchases of land in the Melbourne Region. A number of these were purchases under provisions for selection purchase leases such as Section 121 Land Act 1928, Section 46 Land Acts 1915 and 1928, and Section 47 Land Act 1901. Different colored cards were used for different legislative provisions.One of the details given is the file or correspondence number with those with a 'G' prefix referring to inwards correspondence for the Melbourne district (see VPRS 14307 and VPRS 15014) or to 'M' or miscellaneous metropolitan correspondence (see VPRS 15013). Other details are the name and address of the purchaser, the location and extent of the land and details of the purchase money, the plan fee, the grant fee and the assurance with the date of payment.
