Rhizobium sp. Pop5 is a strain producing antirhizobial RiPP phazolicin. It was isolated from the root nodules of common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris). The whole-genome assembly obtained by ONT sequencing allows for the localization of the phazolicin biosynthetic gene cluster on the 402 kbp megaplasmid. The strain was a gift from Prof. Esperanza Martinez-Romero (Center for Genomic Sciences, Mexico).
