In present study, we studied on soil samples collected from various areas in South Korea as sources to isolate novel bacteria and a strain NIBRBAC000500504 was isolated from Jangsu area located in the middle of Korean Peninsula. 16S rRNA gene sequence study of the strain NIBRBAC000500504 with closely related various genus Mesorhizobium revealed that the isolated strain NIBRBAC000500504 might be a novel species of genus Mesorhizobium . Additionally, a series of taxonomic evaluation/determination was performed to characterize strain NIBRBAC000500504. In this study, phenotypic, phylogenetic and genomic characteristics of isolated strain NIBRBAC000499792 were described to evidence that the isolated strain NIBRBAC000500504 is a novel species, Mesorhizobium terrae sp. nov.
