Questionnaire and dataset of "Scientific and technical journal editors’ knowledge, practices, and attitudes toward the publication of data related to research articles"

As one of the important stakeholders of open scientific data policy, scientific and technical journals play a crucial role in promoting publication of data related to research articles. Editors, as key participants in the academic publishing process, have a direct impact on the formulation and implementation of journal policies, and thus determine the effectiveness of the promotion of publication of data related to research articles. In this study, a self-developed questionnaire was used to investigate the editors of domestic scientific and technical journals on their knowledge, practice and attitude towards publication of data related to research articles. A total of 150 questionnaires were collected, of which 31 were completely ignorant of the concept of publication of data related to research articles, in view of which only 119 editors were informed about their knowledge, awareness, practice and attitude towards other related contents. The survey provides us with a picture of the knowledge, practice and attitude of editors of scientific and technical journals in China towards publication of data related to research articles.
