资源简介:
A key feature of most forest regions of western Canada are the cycles of natural disturbance that help to renew the forest and maintain a healthy forest landscape. These disturbances include fire insect and disease as well as Indigenous uses of fire. Forest managers also implement timber harvesting to support economic activities and create patterns of disturbance that are similar to natural processes. There are choices and trade-offs between these disturbance types that are often difficult to make. The dataset includes responses from 2606 residents of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Utilizing a factorial survey experiment (vignettes), data provides insights into the social acceptability of forest disturbance and the factors leading to acceptable forest management practices.
