资源简介:
The kantharos, whose findspot is unknown and is dated between 720 and 700 BC, is a drinking and banqueting vessel which was mainly associated ich Dionysos and sometimes Heracles and rarely held by mortals due to depictions as you can see in Attic vase painting. It was furthermore used in religious rituals for Dionysos. From archaic times onwards the deep bowl, the tall foot and the highly lifted handels established as the main features of the kantharos. The origin of that specific form, Boeotia or Etruria, is still controversial. In contrast to the archaic exmaples the late geometric Bonn kantharos has no foot and a globular body. The body is painted with two quintuplesof concentrical circles and a Boeotian shield between the on very site. The handles are decorated with big braids.
