Probiotics supplementation improves anthropometric growth, mental health and gut microbiome composition in patients with Prader-Willi Syndrome: a randomized double-blinded placebo-controlled trial

Pradi-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a rare genetic disorder associated with developmental delay, obesity, and mental health issues. Gut microbiota have been implicated in the etiology of obesity and associated comorbidities in PWS subjects however, this has not investigated extensively. More specifically Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. Lactis (B. lactis) has been found in gastrointestinal track and exhibited anti-obesity effects. Based on previous finding we have administered probiotic containing B. lactis with the aim of improving some common traits associated PWS.
