资源简介:
Plastic pollution is a big threat to the environment, this study reveals the biodegradation of the low density polyethylene by bacteria isolated from fluvial soil of Palar river. As this is a sustainable approach to manage the pollution of the plastic, this bacteria forms biofilm and helps to degrade the LDPE pellets. It uses the pellet as its carbon source. The results were concluded by the SEM images as well as by viewing the reduction in initial and final weight of the LDPE pellet. This research contributes valuable insights into the mechanisms of plastic degradation, offering a promising solution to address the global challenge of plastic pollution and emphasizing the potential of fluvial soil bacteria in sustainable plastic waste treatment systems. Further exploration is necessary to optimize conditions for enhanced biodegradation and assess long-term ecological implications.
